Bow Habitat Station Bug Soup Marsh Dipping

  • Armed with nets and buckets, prepare to get a bit muddy as you search for and identify the critters who make their home in our wetlands. Join Bow Habitat Station for Bug Soup this summer — it’s a great summertime activity to satisfy a kid’s natural curiosity! This programmer-led activity lets you dive deeper and learn about the often-missed little creatures. All science gear is provided, and rubber boots are highly recommended. (And maybe even extra clothes!)

Calgary Japanese Festival “Omatsuri”

Where:

  • “Omatsuri” is the Japanese term for a “traditional festival”. Visitors to the festival will be treated to authentic Japanese customs, presentations of traditional music, dance & song, martial arts demonstrations, and more!


    Both days are Omatsuri which in Japanese means ‘Festival’. This year we are planning on adding a Friday Night Market in the tradition of a Japanese Obon Festival with dancing, vendor stalls, and much much more. Check back often as we will update the site as plans are finalized.


    As in the past, the traditional Saturday Festival will be filled with Japanese performances, children’s games, arts and culture, lots of your favorite Japanese vendors, and cuisine. Don’t miss the fabulous Sake tasting as well as the beer garden! 

Annual Bulls on the Beach
