Hey Wanderers,
Adi and I just got back from the most surprisingly magical weekend in Langford, BC and we can’t stop thinking about it. Just outside of Victoria, Langford is this charming little city that flies under the radar and it has EVERYTHING. Whether you’re into scenic hikes, beach vibes, relaxing spa days, or unforgettable food, Langford has it all, and more than you'd expect. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and soak it all in.

First Stop: Soul-Warming Comfort Food at Jones Bar-B-Que
Our Langford adventure started with food, because obviously! The moment we landed, we made our way to Jones Bar-B-Que, and it was the warm welcome we didn’t even know we needed. The smell alone had us drooling.
We ordered the brisket and it did not disappoint! It was tender, smoky, and just the right amount of fat. But the real surprise was the BBQ chicken. Hands down one of the best we’ve had. It was packed with flavour, juicy through every bite, and had that crave-worthy charred edge.
And just when we thought we were done, we got talked into the banana pudding, thank goodness. It was creamy, nostalgic, and the perfect sweet ending to fuel the adventures ahead. This spot alone is worth the trip.
Local Love at Langford Station
After filling our bellies, we headed over to Langford Station, a quaint marketplace featuring local vendors, artisans, and small-town charm. Even though we missed their Friday Night Market (note to self: plan around that next time), the space still had such a warm, welcoming vibe.
We browsed through handmade candles, island honey, and cozy knitwear while chatting with the kindest vendors. You can tell this is the heartbeat of the community. We can only imagine how lively and magical this place must get on a Friday night under the twinkle lights with live music. It’s a must-visit for supporting local and soaking up authentic Langford energy.
The Ultimate Reset at Amatista Spa
Langford may be chill, but Amatista Spa takes that to a whole new level. This place is tucked into the landscape like it’s part of the view, and what a view it is!
I booked a custom facial and Adi went for a deep tissue massage, and both experiences were beyond our expectations. My esthetician was incredibly knowledgeable and made me feel completely pampered. Adi came out of his massage looking like he had just emerged from a 3-hour nap on a cloud (he still won’t stop talking about it).
Afterwards, we spent time in their outdoor hot tub that overlooks the hills of Langford. The peace, the breeze, the view was all just wow. It’s one of those “we need to come back here” moments you’ll replay in your head again and again.
Fairways Hotel: Comfort, Views, and Golf Course Calm

Checking into The Fairways Hotel felt like arriving at a peaceful retreat. Our suite was massive, with a plush bed, fully equipped kitchenette, and the best part, a balcony that backed onto a golf course with stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Mornings here were a dream. We sipped our coffee wrapped in robes while watching early golfers tee off, with birds chirping and sunlight filtering through the trees. It’s the kind of hotel that feels cozy and lovely at the same time. It definitely a total gem in Langford!
A Global Wine Journey at The Westin
One of the highlights of our trip was the wine tasting experience at The Westin. We thought we’d just try a few wines and call it a night but it turned into something so much more.
Our sommelier, Bipin, was not only insanely knowledgeable but also so passionate that you couldn’t help but get excited about every single pour. We tasted wines from all over the world and learned the backstories behind each one. Bipin shared pairing tips, tasting notes, and even little travel stories that brought the wine to life.
It wasn’t just a tasting, it was a full experience. Highly, highly recommend.

Dinner to Remember at House of Boateng
Still energized, we ended our night at House of Boateng, and this place is something else. The menu blends West Coast ingredients with African-inspired techniques and flavours, creating a dining experience that’s both bold and beautiful.
Our standout dish was the Suya. Believe it or not, this was our first time trying it and now we’re hooked. The grilled meat was perfectly spiced and tender, and every bite had that slow-build heat and deep flavour that makes your taste buds dance.
Everything from the decor to the plating felt thoughtful and fresh. This is a restaurant you’ll want to tell people about.

Insta-Worthy Trails at Goldstream Provincial Park
The next morning, we ventured into Goldstream Provincial Park, and it’s exactly the kind of spot that makes you fall in love with nature all over again.
We hiked under towering trees, passed scenic streams, and discovered hidden little nooks perfect for photo ops and moments of quiet. The weather was dreamy, and the views from the trails were super well maintained (though there was a bear sighting a couple days ago that had us kind of scared! We're happy to report though, we didn't get eaten by a bear!)
We saw so many families BBQing, laughing, and spending the day together, and it made the whole space feel extra wholesome. It’s the kind of place where core memories are made.

Sheringham Distillery: World-Class Gin, Small-Town Soul
We had no idea Sheringham Distillery was based in Langford and now we’ll never forget it.
If you haven’t heard of them, they won World’s Best Contemporary Gin, and after trying it, we can confirm: well deserved. We were lucky enough to get a tour from Jason, the founder, and his story was so inspiring. From humble beginnings to world recognition, it was a reminder that sometimes, the best things really do come from unexpected places.
The gin was smooth, complex, and unique and the tasting was beautiful. This was an unexpected highlight of the trip.
Sun, Sand, and Serenity at Langford Lake
After our distillery tour, we headed to Langford Lake Beach Park, and it was the perfect way to relax and let everything sink in.
The water was calm and clear, and the entire vibe of the beach was peaceful but not empty. We found a cozy little spot to sunbathe, dip our toes in, and just enjoy the view. It felt like we had discovered our own little pocket of paradise.
It’s not a loud or party-style beach, it’s soft, calm, and exactly what you want after a full day of adventure.

Comfort Food Goals at Authentic Cuisine of India
For lunch, we went to Authentic Cuisine of India, and I kid you not this was the best butter chicken we’ve had in ages. Rich, creamy, with just the right level of spice.
The garlic naan was hot, fluffy perfection, and everything from the service to the flavours made us feel like we were being wrapped in a warm hug. This spot is underrated and unforgettable.
Next Time for Sure: Jordie Lunn Bike Park
As we were heading back to the hotel, we passed Jordie Lunn Bike Park, and we were crushed to find it closed for the day! You could tell just from looking in that it’s a haven for thrill-seekers and adventure lovers.
We’re already making a mental note to come back and check it out properly. If you’re into biking (or even just watching), this place should be on your list.
One Last Treat: 900 Degrees Tiramisu in Bed
To cap off our unforgettable 48 hours, we grabbed dessert from 900 Degrees Wood-Fired Pizzeria and curled up in bed with the dreamiest tiramisu. Sweet, soft, and indulgent, it was the perfect way to wind down and reflect on everything we had experienced.
Langford surprised us in every way.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a chill but fulfilling escape from Calgary, or anywhere really, Langford is that perfect blend of scenic, peaceful, and packed with little surprises. From epic food to stunning trails and the friendliest people, it’s the kind of place that welcomes you in and stays with you long after you’ve left.
Trust us, this little city where it all happens! You’ll want to keep it on your radar.
