Hey Wanderers,
We finally made it to Sherpa Kitchen & Bar, and let’s just say we’ll definitely be back. Tucked into the heart of downtown with the rare perk of free parking (yes, you read that right), this spot blends cozy atmosphere with some of the best Nepali food we’ve had in Calgary.

The food was incredible, flavourful, comforting, and deeply rooted in tradition. We brought my parents along and everyone left full and happy. The yak dish was a first for me, and it absolutely delivered. It was tender, bold, and rich in flavour without feeling too heavy. The jhol momos were another standout, warm, juicy, and packed with flavour.
Honestly, everything we tried was amazing, and the presentation made each dish feel like a moment. It’s clear they put just as much effort into how the food looks as how it tastes.
Sherpa Kitchen’s menu is inspired by the Himalayan region, with traditional Nepali flavours combined with modern touches. There’s something really special about how they balance authenticity with a fresh, creative approach. You can tell each dish is made with care and a real connection to the culture.
One of our favourite parts was the floor seating area, filled with colourful cushions and low tables. It’s intimate, welcoming, and encourages you to slow down and enjoy the experience. Sharing food in that space felt intentional and warm, a reminder that good food brings people together.
From the flavours to the atmosphere, everything about Sherpa Kitchen feels like an invitation to explore and connect. It’s a little piece of Nepal in the middle of the city, and we’re already planning our next visit.
Happy Wandering!
