Hey Wanderers!
Calgary is growing at an incredible rate, with nearly 100,000 new residents moving here in just one year! As our city transforms into a vibrant hub of diverse experiences, Wandering in YYC, in collaboration with CBC and the Calgary Public Library, invites newcomers to share their stories and connect at our Participatory Journalism Workshop.
🗓 Date: 30 November 2024
📍 Location: Central Library
🤝 Collaborators: CBC, Wandering in YYC & Calgary Public Library
This isn’t just a workshop; it’s an opportunity to reflect on what makes Calgary feel like home, share your journey, and brainstorm how journalism can help address the unique challenges newcomers face.
From placing a sticker on our world map to contributing to a collective "letter back home," you’ll engage in meaningful conversations, meet fellow Calgarians, and share valuable insights.
What to Expect:
Interactive Discussions: Reflect on your move to Calgary, discuss what makes this city feel welcoming (or not), and share the biggest challenges you’ve encountered.
Collective Storytelling: Help us shape community stories, share tips and solutions, and contribute to themes that CBC could explore.
Content Creation: Be part of a TikTok-style video sharing your journey and advice for future Calgarians.
We’ll have coffee, snacks, and an engaging afternoon waiting for you. Come with your stories, ideas, and thoughts on how we can make Calgary even more welcoming!
Spaces are limited, so make sure to REGISTER!
Let’s make Calgary feel like home, together!
