Hey Wanderers!

If you're a vinyl enthusiast or just love exploring unique local gems, Recordland Limited in Calgary's Inglewood neighbourhood is a must-visit. Boasting a staggering collection of approximately 1.7 million records, it's considered one of Canada's largest record stores.

A Treasure Trove of Music

Established in 1978 by Armand Cohen, Recordland has been a cornerstone of Calgary's music scene for decades. The store's vast inventory spans genres from rock and jazz to hip-hop and country, with a particular emphasis on older, used records. While the main store showcases around 300,000 records, the remaining 1.4 million are stored in the back warehouse, which occasionally opens for special sales.

Inside Recordland

Organized Chaos

Navigating Recordland is an adventure in itself. The aisles are lined floor-to-ceiling with records, and while the main sections are organized by genre and alphabetically, some areas, like the 45s room, are less structured. This setup adds to the thrill of the hunt, making each visit a unique experience.

Supporting Local Music

Beyond its extensive collection, Recordland is deeply connected to Calgary's vibrant music community. The store collaborates with local labels like Inner Ocean and Flemish Eye to stock titles from regional artists, ensuring that local talent gets the spotlight it deserves.
