Whether your crew loves thrill rides, epic weekend adventures, or trying something new, there’s something exciting for families every week. From action-packed days at Spruce Meadows and Calaway Park to discovering new sports and outdoor fun, these are just a few of the adventures waiting for your family this summer:

Europa Super Circus

The Europa Super Circus will be in Calgary for the first time from June 26 – July 6, 2025. Get your tickets for a modern twist on circus classics, performed by world-class circus artists. From the tightwire to clowns to the ‘Wheel of Death, ‘ your whole family will be entertained.

Century Downs Racetrack and Casino Canada Day Celebration

Bring the whole crew—this event is kid-friendly, with festive vibes, and face painting!

Calgary Stampede Parade Day

Each year the Parade showcases more than 150 western-themed entries, including 30 marching bands, 40 floats, 750 horses and 4,000 people. It’s not just a Parade marching down an avenue; it’s a march through tradition, history and local Calgary culture. While our western roots are strong, we’ve also got multicultural flair with many people travelling from all over the globe to walk and ride in our Parade.

Go straight from the Parade to the Park and receive FREE admission from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  

Spruce Meadows EPIC Weekend North American Tournament

💰 5+ (Free for children under 8)

These EPIC Weekends have live music, food vendors, and unique shopping. You’ll find the Prairie Dogs Agility Training, Duck Herding, Corgi Races, Hobby Horse Competitions, and the Strathcona Mounted Troop Musical Ride on the Deloitte Demo Ring. The Kids’ Zone is open on Saturdays and Sundays with face painting, Pinnovate crafts, pony rides, bouncy castles, and a mini train. Friday nights are for Movies at the Meadows. Come at 5 PM for the family movie, stay for a movie the adults and big kids will enjoy at 7 or 7:30 PM.

The Hangar Flight Museum Open Aircraft Days

Have you ever wanted to sit in one of the amazing airplanes at The Hangar Flight Museum? Now you can! On weekends from June 21 – September 7, 2025, visit Open Aircraft Days and climb right inside. Over the summer, you can expect to see the Avro Lancaster, the Sikorsky Dragonfly, the Beechcraft 18, the Twin Otter, and the Douglas DC-3.

Take a Kid to the Golf Course Week

Get your kid golfing … for FREE!

During this week, participating golf courses will offer free golf to kids under the age of 16, when accompanied by a paying adult. In addition to free golf, some courses will offer additional programs such as junior clinics, free range balls, free junior club rentals and parent/child tournaments.

It is recommended to call the facility before you go, to check any restrictions. Be sure to let them know you are participating in the Take A Kid To The Course program!

Calaway Park Comic Fest for Kids

Calaway Comic Fest for Kids is included with your admission to Calaway Park. You’ll enjoy unlimited rides, live entertainment, access to the Cinemagic 3D, Haunted Hotel, CP Spray n’ Play, and parking. It’s all the fun of Calaway Park, plus Comic Fest for Kids! Dress up in a family-friendly costume, meet your favourite characters, and join in some fun surprises in the Calaway Comic Fest for Kids zone.

Family Fishing Weekends Alberta

📍 Alberta waterbodies with open fishing seasons (not in national parks)

During Alberta’s twice-yearly Family Fishing Weekends, no fishing is licence required. Albertans and visitors are invited to give fishing a try on waterbodies with open fishing seasons (not in national parks). Keep in mind that fishing regulations still apply. 

The Big Bounce

All Sport One Day

All Sport One Day is an amazing opportunity for kids to try a new sport, for FREE. With over 50 exciting activities at 9 locations, the sports could include basketball, speed skating, karate, hockey, soccer, fencing, and much more. So come on out and try something new, courtesy of the City of Calgary and its recreation partners.
